Power Smoothie

Looking for something to get your day going in the right direction? My power smoothie has everything you need to feel energized and ready to tackle the day, even on a Monday… ;-)


The key ingredient that will leave you feel incredible is chia seeds. If you’re not familiar here is some info from it’s packaging: Chia seeds are grown in Mexico and was a diet staple of the Aztecs and Mayans. The reason it was such a staple is because it sustained their energy during long hunts and also had several medicinal benefits. Chia seeds help with lowering cholesterol, cardiovascular function and also helps hugely with our digestive tracts.

I combined the magical chia seeds with velvety vanilla almond milk, deliciously sweet and tangy frozen mangos, pineapples, and strawberries to make the perfect on the go breakfast!



1 container vanilla almond milk

2 tbsp. chia seeds (can be found at Whole Foods)


½ cup frozen pineapple chunks

½ cup frozen mango chunks

½ cup frozen strawberries

5 oz. portion of papaya puree (can be found at Whole Foods in frozen fruit section)



In a small bowl, mix together chia seeds and ¾ cup of the vanilla almond milk. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes. Chia seeds will form a jelly like coating. Set aside.

In a blender, add in pineapple, mango, strawberries, papaya puree, and enough almond milk to start the blending process.

 Once the frozen fruit starts to blend into a thick smoothie like consistency add in the chia seed almond milk mixture. Blend again adding in more almond milk until it reaches the smoothie consistency of your liking.
